Children love transforming into their favourite characters every day. Kids are always excited to get up early in the morning and start their mini adventures in their own magical world. A closet full of costumes, a basket full of accessories is what they need. Whether they choose to be a fairy tale character, a dancer, a chef, or even an animal, it is going to be a fun day for both the kids and the parents. And that is for sure. Children will often have so much fun that even before the day ends, they are already thinking of what to become the next morning.

And so the day begins anew with a child busily sorting through hanger after hanger of clothes in the closet. After a few moments, your child comes out wearing the cutest costume made from several different pieces of clothing. Nobody understands the concept and the origin of the outfit except your little kid, but that is okay as long as they are having fun, learning and expressing their creativity.

With kids, each day is different. They are spontaneous little human beings who can come up with so many unique ideas right at the moment. They are easily inspired by what they see and what they hear around them. Their innocence and curiosity are what makes them the cutest storytellers. One day they are in a magical world. The next day they are in a supermarket. Next, they decide to be characters in a television show. Their stories are so diverse and it is even more adorable when kids mix up the different wonderful stories they came up with.

It is not just storytelling they become passionate about. Kids pair it with singing, dancing, performing, and any other activities that involve music. After they discover the concept of music, they would look for their own instruments, sing along to nursery rhymes, compose their own songs, and invent their own dance moves. Parents are always the special guests to kids wonderful performances. Through these activities, their talents and skills are enhanced. On top of that, the bond between parents and children becomes stronger. By being involved and encouraging kids to continue with these creative activities, parents are strengthening the foundation of their relationship.

With these types of activities, kids get to express themselves. They get to use their imagination and creative thinking when coming up with new ideas on what to do in their next play session. They are free to share what they are thinking and try new things, which are both helpful in their development.  And the results? Beautiful masterpieces inspired by their creativity, magic, and imagination.

This is when children start forming their dreams – what they want to be when they grow up, places they want to see, things they want to do. By letting them express their ideas, move freely, and play by their made up rules, you are giving them the chance to dream. You are giving them the freedom to choose for themselves, a training for when they grow older and they have to make important decisions. You are letting them know that they can be anything they want to be and that anything is possible.

That is why giving them enough space, the right toys, and plenty of your time is very important. A safe space for them to run freely, to set up a fort, or to dance to their favourite songs is essential. It’s where they start and end their day, think of new fun ideas, play with friends, or just simply have a great time. Having educational and safe toys are just as important. With the right learning accessories, children’s learning experience is optimized. Costumes, musical instruments, role-playing toys: these are some of the accessories loved by kids who are starting to explore the world. As parents, it is your responsibility to encourage your kids to be creative and come up with their own ideas. But that does not mean you can't be a cool playmate and join the fun. When there are no other kids around, you child enjoys your company too. It makes them happy if their parents are playing with them.
