Jaguars can be found in America and are the largest cat species there. However, a jaguar is smaller than the lion and the tiger and is the third-largest cat species in the world. At a glance, the jaguar's body coat resembles that of a leopard, but its coat pattern has a spot in the middle of the flower-like designs. A jaguar is also larger and sturdier than a leopard. The jaguar has the most muscular jaw and biting action among all of the cat species, and its set of teeth can easily split open a tortoise's shell. Because of their habitat, they prey on larger animals such as deer, peccaries, capybaras, and tapirs. Jaguars are also agile hunters who sometimes climb up trees to set up an ambush on their target prey.
