The Academy USS Yorktown CV-5 model kit lets you build a replica of a historic World War II aircraft carrier. It shows the ship as it appeared during the Battle of Midway in 1942, marking its role in a key Pacific conflict.

Yorktown was designed for speed and aircraft capacity, a shift from earlier US carrier designs. It carried up to 85 planes and fought in major battles like Coral Sea and Midway before sinking in June 1942.

This kit includes detailed plastic parts in 1:700 scale and features carrier-based aircraft from that period. Assembly and painting are required, and glue and paint are not included.
