The Big Squij
Sitting in bed or their favourite reading nook, your child just found their new best friend. Weighted pillows offer more than emotional comfort - they keep your little ones company, giving them a sense of companionship and help relieve anxiety. Watch as your child sinks into a state of relaxation with these weighted plush cushions at their side. Designed to fit snugly in their embrace, these weighted plushies come with sandbags sewn into the stuffing to ensure uniform distribution. Hand sewn and finished, these high-quality pillows come in a variety of shapes and sizes. We only stock the best - meaning every plush is made with soft stretchy fabric and filled with polypropylene cotton. Our big squij fluffy pillows are between 1-2kgs and come with extra, reinforced stitching to keep the sand from leaking out. We love watching children squeal when they see an extra large mochi plushie or completely lose it when they see a double-sided one. Our range of weighted squij pillows are suited for children aged 4+, but please ensure that your child is able to self-remove a weighted pillow before purchasing one (weighted pillows can be a safety concern for younger children). Doubling up as heat packs, our plush pillows are microwave-safe, so you can heat them up before giving them to your child on cold days. They really work for
The Big Squij
Soft and smooshy, that’s how we’d describe these popular stress toys from The Big Squij. The Squishy Penguin is a plump and rounded bird with a white face and belly, a black body, and a bright orange beak and feet. Each penguin measures 15cm across, so it’s big enough to pick up and squish a bunch of times, one in each hand, to relieve stress or keep fidgety hands occupied.
The Squishy Cola Bottle is more of the same - the same soft, squeezable material, the same smooth matte finish, but in the shape of a cola bottle. This one’s got a beige top with brown bottle, with embossing on the surface for added texture. Keep this one handy for when you need to release some tension - or set it on your desk and make everyone else jealous.
The Squishy Duck is even bigger - it’s more than twice as long as the penguin, at 33cm. This one is shaped like a rubber ducky: rounded body, orange beak and tail, yellow everywhere else. When it’s not sitting pretty on your shelf, this one is perfect for a comforting hug.
And then there’s The Squishy Donut, which at 15cm, is about the size of the penguin. It’s got a pink body, topped with white frosting, with colourful blue and yellow sprinkles, and a smile on its face.
What Makes the Big Squij Practical?
The Big Squij works for all ages - but it’s especially enjoyable for kids aged 6 to 14. It can take a day or two to finish these - so children can easily build patience while they work on them. Older kids might want to take on more challenging builds, but if you’re a parent or educator and a younger child is passionate about a more difficult one, you can make it an opportunity for a collaborative project. These also work pretty well as group activities because of how many moving parts there are - there’s enough to do for everyone involved. They’re highly customisable in that even if kids follow the instructions, they can add their own little flair by arranging the furniture however they like. The smaller bits and pieces can really build fine motor skill in children aged 8 to 14 - and even give dexterity an edge in grown-ups who may be stuck all day at their desks. Not to mention, seeing your kid beam with pride once their nightlight is all lit up and glowy is pretty much the best reward. A sturdy wooden finish means they can be displayed almost anywhere around the house - and are a great conversation starter.
