Step back to the golden age of British Rail with this 1:76 scale Hornby British Rail High-Speed train set. Inspired by the iconic R.685 set from the 1970s and 1980s, it combines classic design with modern precision, making it perfect for collectors and new enthusiasts alike.

The set features the legendary InterCity 125 High-Speed Trains, first introduced in 1976 to run 125 mph services on the Great Western and East Coast Main Lines. Built at Crewe by BREL, the Class 43 diesel trains remain the fastest of their kind in the world, capturing a key piece of rail history.

Included are two Class 43 driving cars – one powered and one non-powered – with directional lighting showing white at the front and red at the rear. The set also includes a Mk3 passenger coach, an oval track with a siding, a buffer stop, and a controller with mains power supply. It is DCC ready with a 21-pin socket for advanced digital control.
