Codename is a fun word association game that is puzzle-based to guess correctly and win it. This game is a team game and pits two teams against each other. In the game, 200 double-sided cards give a total of 400 clues. Some cards show the spymaster what clues they are supposed to give. There are also the blue team, the red team, the assassin and all those innocent bystanders. The playing board is set in a five-by-five grid of the clue cards with the spymasters on one side and the players on the opposite side. Only the spymasters will see the chart and know the code name their players are attempting to guess, all the while keeping an eye on the innocent bystanders and the assassin. The spymaster gives a clue to the players for guessing at each turn. If the players guess the assassin card, that team lose immediately. If the team guesses the bystander card, the turn is lost. The first team that guesses all the clues is the winner. For ages 14 and up.
